Would of been 5 stars if I didn’t get the middle seat on the plane for the Heart of the Reef tour. Reaching over people to see below was annoying; however, apart from that, the service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful, can’t fault that, everyone from booking to the pilot were very informative. Apart from the amazing views, get ready for them air pockets haha, we found one and of the passengers decided to let everyone know how loud she could scream, I can’t get it out of my head hahaha funniest thing to happen that tour. Imagine a turkey making a gobbling noise and screaming at the same time, that’s the sound haha. Plane seats were very comfy, just like every other plane in the world, the air con takes a few minutes.

Absolutely beautiful day, pilot Isaac was wonderful with good commentary. Landing on water at Whitehaven was exciting and we were provided with champagne on the beach. Viewing the reef from the sky was eye opening, a must do👍

Took advantage of a deal to take this scenic flight and was worth every cent. The courtesy shuttle is handy and pilot was very friendly and informative. A great way to see the islands and reef from above.

It was an incredible day with ocean rafting! The start to the day was smooth with a free pick up service by the company. We then headed to the airport along the water at Airlie beach. The team here were efficient in getting everything organised to take us up into the air! There had been some people “no-show”, so we all sat with a window seat and got a great view! The pilot was considerate enough to do multiple laps of the Heart Reef, to ensure that everyone got a good look! The ride was smooth and professional with some guided information from the pilot about different islands! We were transported by coach to the port and quickly checked in before hopping on board the raft. The staff again were professional and helpful. If you are looking for relaxing ride to the beach, this boat probably isn’t best for you. It was very windy and also bumpy at the front and all loose items needed to be put away. The boat ride was more of an experience rather than just transport with people being able to sit on the side of the boat on the “adventure seats”. We stopped off to do snorkelling first, with a decent view of the reef and plenty of free time to explore. They provided pool noodles which helped make snorkelling easier, even for experienced swimmers. The walk to Hill Inlet takes about 30 mins. Note you have to hop off/get on the boat in the water at the beach. So sandals or thongs are best to wear as walking shoes would get very wet (knee height water). The view is beautiful and you spend about 20 mins at the 3 different lookouts. It was choppy conditions and Whitehaven beach was very busy. So we stopped at a different beach which we had all to ourselves. There is no shade, but the water was beautiful. Fruit for morning tea, different meats and salad for lunch and then a lamington for afternoon tea. Food is good enough to fill the gap and drinks can be purchased on board for a fee. If you have different dietry requirements let the staff know when booking as they don’t have different options available with them. We had a fantastic day thanks to the crew at Ocean Rafting. And a special mention to Nicole for being a fantastic guide.

I had read reviews before going about the plane having two seats that were obstructed by the bar from the wing. I couldn’t find any helicopter tours available while we were there so I figured I would just avoid sitting in those seats. However, when we arrived we were assigned seats, and me and my partner got stuck in the two seats with the obstructed view. It completely ruined the flight for me as my view was obstructed the whole time, and the photo opportunities were significantly limited. They should either not book these seats or offer a discounted price. I was very upset that I paid just as much as everyone else but had a much less enjoyable experience. With two of the seven available seats having an obstructed view, there is a good chance you will be assigned these seats so be warned.

I was convinced to do this tour by the local agent at my hostel - who told me this was would be unmissable and he was right! I had a blast. The scenery was breath taking on this tour. We got picked up from the hostel, taken to the airport right by the ocean and we were off over the sea on our way out to the Great Barrier reef in straight away. The pilot was super friendly guy from Quebec and the plane was new and very nice. Everyone had great views from anywhere they sit and you have to see it to believe how simply stunning this natural wonder that is the Great Barrier Reef. The service level was so high and easily the best flight company to go with! Thank you so much to my hostel for booking this and to the guys at Ocean Rafting - you all ROCK!

The tourism business “Ocean Rafting” sell a flight over GBR followed by a fast raft experience involving snorkeling, trip to Hamilton Island and Whitehaven Beach. Instead of doing both on the one day we decided on the flight first day and rafting next. Flight was simply wonderful. We saw much but the Flight over the actual Great Barrier Reef Area, quite a way out to sea, was fantastic. Going to the Reef on a boat gives you nowhere near the realisation of the beauty and mammoth proportions of this “Wonder of the World”. Wow!

Door to door service from our hotel and return. Bus driver was lovely. They are very prompt with their timing. Our male captain on the flight was lovely and very knowledgeable. Conditions were great so we were able to get some great pics. We saw the majority of the islands and white haven beach. Great value for money!
